Health of the Havanese

Dogs are living beings and, just like people, they can experience health problems. You should be aware of this before purchasing a dog.

The Havanese has few breed-specific health problems. In the past, patella (kneecap) and eye problems sometimes occurred.

As a careful breeder, I only breed from parent dogs that have been tested for their eyes and patella and have good results in both areas. You may inspect these results and will receive a copy when purchasing a puppy.

I am always happy to provide more information about the breed and answer questions, both before you purchase a puppy and after the puppy has moved into your home. I also appreciate being kept informed about the puppy's development.
